The images in the artist book Inside the Factory stem from hours of exploring a closed-down factory in Barcelona which is normally out of bounds. The space is abandoned of people but is full of objects and traces of lives spent there. I used my video camera to scan the space. I then analysed the material to find those objects or compositions that stood out for their narrative quality which might have the viewer asking the question “what happened there?” I turned these moments into photographs. I am interested in the way that through losing their original function, objects morph into something else, like strange creatures, or eery traces of some mysterious happening.
